Dr. Joelle Nadine Mbieda épouse Tchansi is a distinguished Cameroonian computational chemist and university lecturer specializing in physical, computational, and medical chemistry. She is attached to the Laboratory of Computational and Theoretical Physical Chemistry at the University of Douala. Her primary research focus lies in the computational analysis of antimalarial, antioxidant, and antidiabetic properties of biologically active molecules extracted from medicinal plants, as well as complex metal-ligand chelations.
Dr. Mbieda has an extensive background in higher education and vocational training. At the university level, she instructs undergraduate courses in inorganic, analytical, and organic chemistry. Additionally, she lectures in clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and food chemistry for BTS programs at the Institut Universitaire du Golfe (IUG) and ISHOPE in Douala, and served as a BTS pharmacy technician jury member. She has widely presented her structural chemistry findings at regional and international forums, including the Commonwealth Chemistry Posters.
Dr. Mbieda holds a PhD in Physical and Computational Chemistry with the highest distinction (Très Honorable) from the University of Douala, where she also earned her Master's degree (DEA), Maîtrise, and Bachelor's degree (Licence).
